Dr Rod Cullen, Senior Lecturer in Technology-Enhanced Learning from MMU will lead an exciting webinar on Tuesday the 28th of April, 12-1pm GMT* during which we will discuss Formative Assessment

In Rod’s own words: “Formative assessment is recognised as an essential aid to student learning.  However it can be challenging not only to provide helpful, timely feedback on formative activities but also to get students to utilise it.  In this respect it is essential to have a carefully designed, integrated assessment strategy as part of any teaching provision.  The options available to academics for providing feedback are more varied that ever and go beyond the traditional written formats to include audio and video feedback.  This webinar will explore issue around the design of formative assessment strategies and will present evidence from practical experiences in several subject areas.”

Webinars enable active participation using audio, video, text and the whiteboard. A headset is required to fully participate. If you are not planning to speak you will just need headphones to listen to the discussion. When you have entered the webinar room, start the Audio Setup Wizard under Meeting at the top left to check your headset.
