CELT will be offering a new series of LEGO in Higher Education workshops which will move you beyond the basics. It will be even more experimental and boost your confidence in using model-based learning approaches with and without LEGO.

Register for this course to experiment with using and adapting LEGO(R) Serious Play(R) to a variety of HE activities linked to learning, teaching and research across the disciplines and professional areas.

Valuable insights are gained through LEGO model making, metaphors, sharing, storytelling and reflecting. Experience it with colleagues from across the university and identify opportunities to use LEGO and a wide range of other materials and objects in your practice to create hands-on stimulating learning experiences.

Members of staff who teach, research and/or support learning across MMU are all very welcome. Please note, there will be a charge to participate in this course for colleagues from other institutions. CELT can organise tailor-made LEGO in HE sessions or short courses for other organisations. Please get in touch for further details and cost.

The following workshops will be offered:

  • workshop 1 (15 Sep, 1-4pm)): Scoping the design/review of a unit/course using LSP
  • workshop 2 (22 Sep, 1-4pm): Appreciative evaluation using LSP and further LEGO-related methods
  • workshop 3 (29 Sep, 1-4pm): Experimenting beyond LSP and LEGO with object & model-based learning within undergraduate and postgraduate units and programmes

Registration is now open. Places are limited. Book early to avoid disappointment. Click here.

Chrissi Nerantzi, who will facilitate the LEGO in Higher Education workshops, is an experienced and accredited LSP Facilitator.

LEGO in Higher Education is part of the FLEX offer. Individuals participating will be able to use evidence of their engagement and development towards a FLEX award or up to 30 credits at postgraduate level that would count towards the Postgraduate Certificate/Masters in Higher Education. Please note, additional work at level 7 linked to specific assessment tasks would be required. FLEX can also be taken as a stand-alone CPD unit.
